This is my interpretation of what a family crest would look like in the wizarding world.
It is for Harry’s family so it includes a stag Patronus representing Harry’s dad, a doe Patronus representing Harry’s mom, the sword of gryffindor, Harry’s Nimbus 2000, the deathly hallows symbol, a lightning bolt, a snitch and three stars which could be found on every page of the American version of the books.

I LOVE BATMAN! We are now only 8 days away from The Dark Knight Rises and I couldn’t be more excited. I am not sure how I feel about bane being the main villain but I have loved both of Nolan’s previous installments so I am optimistic that this will impress.
The below is the first in a series that I am planning where I plan to take pop culture figures and work them into the fighting irish logo style.

owl – prelims

I have always loved owls, they have always fascinated me. For some reason I never thought them as a bird, they were always shrouded in mystery. They have been seen as a symbol of wisdom because the owl is capable of seeing even in the dark and of vigilance because the owl is awake at night. They have been associated with wisdom, courage, inspiration, justice, civilization, strength, strategy, and art all of which are virtues I aspire towards.
I feel like owls are a good symbol for what has become a personal motto. Based on some internet research the Kemp family motto is lucem spero parare tenebras which translates to I hope for light i prepare for darkness. My great grandpa on my mom’s side always said hope for the best but be prepared for the worst so I feel very attached to this motto.
this is a preliminary sketch for a tattoo that i am thinking of getting to mark the occasion of my recent graduation from the art institute.

let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

I am unbelievably excited for the dark knight rises. I was never really a fan of Bane but I am intrigued to see where Nolan takes the character. I haven’t seen Tom Hardy in too many things but what I have seen was good.

This was a test sketch for a children’s book that a friend of mine wrote. This page was about shark that would jump up on its tail and bark like a sea lion.
